Galleries
The Galleries section in Maptaskr Power Maps is designed to help administrators and users manage, configure, and optimize both basemaps and data layers for their mapping applications. It is divided into two main areas:
Basemap Gallery
Purpose:
The Basemap Gallery provides a centralized interface to view, add, and manage all basemaps available from your configured providers. It allows you to:
- Add new basemaps by specifying type, URL, and authentication.
 - Edit details such as title, description, and image.
 - Adjust advanced styling (e.g., symbology, colors, z-index).
 - Control the rendering order of basemap layers for optimal map clarity.

Key Features:
- Supports both image-based (raster) and data-based (vector, GeoJSON, PBF) basemaps.
 - Offers fine-grained control over basemap appearance and order.
 - Integrates with authentication profiles for secure basemap access.

Supported Basemaps:
You can use a variety of basemap types, including:
- Slippy Image Basemaps (raster tiles)
 - MapLibre Style Basemaps (vector/raster with dynamic styling)
 - Custom basemaps from different providers

Each basemap type has specific requirements for endpoints and responses, and the documentation provides examples and best practices for each.
Layer Gallery
Purpose:
The Layer Gallery is where you manage operational and data layers that appear on your maps. It enables you to:
- Create and organize layer groups for better management.
 - Add new layers by specifying connection details, type, and authentication.
 - Edit layer details, including metadata and display options.
 - Apply advanced filtering and actions to control what data is shown and how users interact with it.

Key Features:
- Supports a wide range of layer types, including ArcGIS FeatureServer, MapServer, Dataverse, MapLibre, and Slippy Image layers.
 - Allows filtering at multiple levels (Layer Gallery, Config Profile, Layer Panel) for precise data control.
 - Provides tools for managing layer actions and supported functionality for each layer type.

Layer Filtering:
You can filter layers based on attributes, user context, or page variables. Filtering can be set up:
- When creating or editing a layer in the Layer Gallery
 - Within a specific Config Profile (for targeted scenarios)
 - On the map itself via the Layers panel

Layer Actions:
Layer actions allow you to define what users can do with each layer, such as querying, editing, or interacting with features.
Supported Layers:
The documentation details all supported layer types, their requirements, and example configurations, including:
- ArcGIS FeatureServer/MapServer
 - Dataverse (for business data integration)
 - MapLibre Style
 - Slippy Image

How to Use the Galleries
- Basemap Gallery: Use this to manage the visual background of your maps, ensuring users have the right context and style for their needs.
 - Layer Gallery: Use this to manage the data and operational layers, control what information is displayed, and how users can interact with it.

Both galleries are essential for building powerful, flexible, and user-friendly mapping solutions in Maptaskr Power Maps.
