Troubleshooting Installation
If you encounter an error during the installation of Maptaskr Power Maps, this guide will help you identify and resolve common issues. Should you need further assistance, please refer to the FAQ & Support page.
Common Issues
Insufficient User Permissions
The most common problem we see during installation is insufficient user permissions. If you are not a System Administrator, import may fail or skip components. Assign (or temporarily elevate) the System Administrator role and retry.
General Import Failure when installing MaptaskrPowerMaps solution
Should your installation encounter a general failure, where the solution fails to install completely, check for the following common issues:
Symptoms:
- A status of "Failed".
- Errors referencing component framework or attachment size.
- Errors referencing Missing PCF controls.
Things to check:
- Increase file/attachment size limit (System Settings > Email tab > Set file size limit for attachments).
- Enable canvas PCF: System Settings > Customization > "Use new Power Apps component framework for canvas apps".
- Confirm you are System Administrator. For more details on the Prerequisite steps see Platform Configuration.
Missing "Connection Reference Component" duiring import of add-on flow or flow helper solutions
If you see a "Connection Error" or missing connection reference components during import of an add‑on or flows solution:
Likely causes:
- User settings not initialized in the environment (see Dynamics 365 Community blog post)
- DLP Policy preventing creation of connection references. (see Microsoft Docs)
- Missing privileges for connectors.
- The current user’s connection references not created yet.
Steps:

Ensure you are a System Administrator.

Open personal settings via gear icon (Settings > Personalization Settings) and save (this forces settings creation).

Return and re‑import the solution.

If connection references still do not appear, try a different System Administrator account (some accounts initialize faster).

After successful import, open each flow and confirm connection references are bound (no yellow warning banners).
