Accelerate with AI

The AI assistant in Maptaskr Power Maps helps you interact with your maps using natural language. Instead of clicking through menus and options, simply tell the AI what you want to do and it will perform the actions for you.

Getting Started with AI

The AI assistant understands natural language requests and automatically performs map operations. You can:

  • Navigate to locations by describing them
  • Search for places, addresses, or features
  • Control layers by asking to show, hide, or modify them
  • Filter data using plain language descriptions
  • Analyze information by requesting data tables or downloads

Simply type or speak your request, and the AI will interpret your intent and execute the appropriate actions.

What You Can Ask the AI

What You Can Ask the AI

Finding and Going Places

Ask the AI to help you navigate and explore:

Examples:

  • "Take me to the Golden Gate Bridge"
  • "Find the nearest gas station"
  • "Show me Times Square"
  • "Navigate to Central Park in New York"
  • "Where is the closest hospital?"

Working with Map Layers

Control what data appears on your map:

Show or Hide Layers:

  • "Add the traffic layer"
  • "Show me weather data"
  • "Hide all the school layers"
  • "What layers are available?"

Adjust Layer Appearance:

  • "Make the population layer more transparent"
  • "Set the traffic layer to 50% opacity"
  • "Zoom to the school boundaries layer"

Filtering Your Data

Focus on specific information using natural language:

Attribute-Based Filtering:

  • "Show only schools with enrolment over 500 students"
  • "Display highways with speed limit over 65"
  • "Find restaurants with 4+ star ratings"

Geographic Filtering:

  • "Filter to show data within 10 miles of Seattle"
  • "Show everything within 5km of downtown"
  • "Clear all map filters"

Analysing Your Data

Get insights and export information:

Data Tables:

  • "Show me the data table for visible restaurants"
  • "Display all census data"
  • "What information is available for the crime data?"

Export and Downloads:

  • "Download the current map view"
  • "Export this map"

Record Management

(Available in record views)

  • "Set the record address to 123 Main Street"
  • "Update the location for this record"

How AI Responses Work

When you make a request, the AI:

  1. Interprets your natural language request
  2. Identifies the appropriate map actions needed
  3. Executes the operations automatically
  4. Provides feedback on what was accomplished

The AI understands context, so you can have conversational interactions like:

  • "Show me schools""Now hide the elementary schools""Make the remaining ones more visible"

Tips for Better AI Interactions

Be Specific When Needed

  • Instead of: "Show data"
  • Try: "Show the traffic data for highways"

Use Natural Language

  • The AI understands casual language: "Can you make that layer see-through?"
  • You don't need technical terms: "Show buildings" works better than "Display building sublayer instance"

Ask for Help

  • "What can I do with this map?"
  • "What layers are available?"
  • "Show me all the data options"

Combine Requests

  • "Add the traffic layer and make it 30% transparent"
  • "Find Seattle and show traffic data within 5 miles"

Common AI Requests

Here are some frequently used AI commands:

TaskExample Request
Navigation"Go to [location name]"
Layer Control"Show/hide [layer name]"
Transparency"Make [layer] more/less transparent"
Filtering"Show only [criteria]"
Data Tables"Show me the data for [layer]"
Geographic Filter"Filter within [distance] of [location]"
Export"Download this map"
Clear Actions"Clear all filters" or "Hide all layers"

The AI is designed to understand your intent and make working with complex map data as simple as having a conversation.
