Preconfigured Layers

Preconfigure Layers allows you to set up layers that will be automatically loaded when the map control is initialized. This feature is useful for ensuring that users have immediate access to important data without needing to manually add layers each time they load the map.

To use this configuration, you must first configure the layers in the "Layer Gallery Availability" section and enable at least one layer.

When adding a preconfigured layer, you can apply additional configuration options that are specific to the preconfiguration and are managed separately from the settings defined in the Layer Gallery. These options allow you to further customize how the layer behaves when it is loaded with the map. The following configuration options are available:

Adding a Preconfigured Layer​

  1. Navigate to the Preconfigured Layers tab within your profile settings.

  2. In the left panel, click Add Layer to begin adding a new preconfigured layer.

  3. From the list of available layers and sub-layers, select the one(s) you want to preconfigure. You can select multiple sub-layers if needed.

  4. Click Add Layer to add your selection to the preconfigured layers list.

Configuring a Preconfigured Layer​

Once you have added a layer, you can further customize its behavior and appearance using the following configuration tabs:

Layer Details Tab​

Configure basic layer settings and filters:

  • Instance Name: Set a custom name for this layer instance. This is initially pulled from the original layer but can be customized. If you change it at this level, updates to the original layer name will not be reflected in this instance.
  • Existing Filters: View filters that were inherited from the Layer Gallery
  • New Filters: Add additional filters specific to this preconfigured layer:
    • Select the field to filter on from the dropdown
    • Choose a comparison operator (Equals, Contains, etc.)
    • Enter the filter value
    • Use the Match All dropdown to set whether all filters must match or any filter can match

Layer Features Tab​

Control layer visibility and interaction settings:

  • Visible on the map by default: When checked, the layer will be automatically visible when the map loads
  • Default Opacity: Use the slider to set the transparency level (0-100%)
  • Allow Clicking on Features: Enable or disable user interaction with layer features

DataTab Properties​

Configure the data panel behavior:

  • Show DataTab by Default: Automatically open the data panel when the layer is selected
  • Filter to View: Enable filtering based on the current map view
  • Auto Refresh: Automatically refresh data when the map view changes
  • Prevent Closing DataTab: Lock the data panel open to prevent users from closing it

Layer Style Tab​

Customize the visual appearance of layer features:

  • Style configurations: Define custom styling rules including:
    • Style Type: Choose the shape type (circle, square, etc.)
    • Legend Name: Set the display name for this style
    • Zoom Range: Define at which zoom levels this style applies
    • Filter: Apply style only to features matching specific criteria
    • Preview: See a visual preview of the style
  • New Style: Add additional style configurations for different conditions. Learn more
  • Reset: Return to default styling
  • Advanced Style Editor: Access more detailed styling options

Layer Actions Tab​

Configure user interactions and actions:

  • Default Action on Click: Set what happens when users click on features. "Open Attributes" is the default action that comes out-of-the-box, but if you create a custom single record action, you can change the default action on click to use that custom action instead.

Action Management​

  • New Single Record Actions: Actions that will be available to a single feature
  • New Multi Record Actions: Actions that will be available to multiple features
  • Add Action: Add new custom actions for this layer. Learn more about adding an action Map and Layer Actions.
  • Advanced Action Editor: Access detailed action configuration options

Each action displays:

  • Action Icon: Visual representation of the action
  • Action Name: Display name (e.g., "Edit Contact")
  • Action Type: The type of action (e.g., "OpenD365Modal")
  • Order: Order in which the action will display in the action menu.
  • Action controls: Edit or delete individual actions
